Backyard Living by Patrick Brennan

This project looks at creating a new typology of housing in Harold’s cross at the end of long gardens in the residential estates using a contextually driven design system, that can adapt to the different shape, size, orientation and access requirements of a given site. I’m proposing these residential dwellings be rented out to a student demographic providing a more reasonable renting option for these individuals in an area with convenient transport options into the city center. This housing type will increase the population density of suburban estates without compromising their low-rise nature, improving Harold’s Cross socially, environmentally and economically.
