The project looks at creating an alternative housing type for the elderly people in Harold’s Cross that facilitates third age living. It activates the disused spaces found in the back lands of Harold’s Cross by adding a different housing type then that is found around the site. The project houses members of the community who no longer remain independent at home but don’t need full time nursing care. Approaching the site as a singular object with spaces carved out of the mass. The left over mass became the housing units and various other facilities such as a canteen, nursing areas for emergencies and a space for communal activities.
