Mount Argus Apartment scheme by Ryan Donnelly

Located within the former attending grounds of Mount Argus Church is a large residential scheme. Originally planned as a private block closed from the surrounding areas and restricted access, we planned on creating a more open project, attempting to free the original scheme and making a more accessible plan.

The first version of the project had 8 high rise apartment blocks with a small communal building and private gardens. In the re imagined scheme there are less blocks, opening spaces within the internal courtyards for communal activities. Also, there is a greater diversity of housing type, from predominantly duel aspect apartments to single aspect and duel aspect as well 8 small houses. The purpose of the houses is to define the open spaces and also frame walking routes to other projects in the overall scheme.
